There was a man that gave us such JOY on the day we captured him dancing in the parking lot with his “girl.” He told us he hadn’t danced in 50 years and was so grateful for our care! Isn’t that awesome?!
We couldn’t keep this story to ourselves. This fellow broke his hip then after the doc repaired it he dislocated the same hip. He came to us restricted to bed rest for 30 days. You can imagine the gloom in this man’s life, totally dependent on others to take care of practically all of his needs. Once the docs gave their okay the next 45 days began to shed some hope.
Our skilled therapeutic interventions and interdisciplinary care began to help this man regain some mobility despite his intense fear and limitations that prevented him from standing on that leg. Finally, just two weeks ago, with the docs okay, he was able to stand up! And now, he’s walking a distance of 70 feet. – The Eagleview Rehab Team –
Jacqueline T. entered the “Back on Track” unit following an amputation for training on the use of a prosthetic device. After 21 days Ms. T. was able to return home, looking forward to visiting with friends and daily outings. Ms. Tubbs said she was so pleased with her stay and how surprised she was that it all happened so quickly. She stated she would miss all of her new friends at Colonial Haven but was looking forward to seeing her old ones too!
“You are doing a great thing here” – Lesia J.’s brother Curtis L. –
“To all of those that helped care for Peggy: we, the family, greatly appreciate all of your help and patience!! It was hard to believe she left with tears in her eyes talking about the friends she will miss seeing every day and said she will be back to visit very soon.”
